I’m a bit of a sentimentalist. I love the memories/stories attached to everything, including my purchases. Here are a few…
Jacket. Nicholas Ghesquiére had me at hello! The Rachel jacket had me at goodbye … literally as I was about to walk out of the private viewing I was invited to while my little girl was mashing food into the coffee table at Louis Vuitton. Eeeeeks! That memory put behind me, well and truly, this jacket is a testament to the art of craftsmanship at Louis Vuitton. Hand weaving four fine strips of off-white fabrics and black leather results in a piece that has an uncanny resemblance to lace. I truly am a sucker for a bit of handmade and sense of artistry in anything.
Bag. We were trotting down cobblestone alleys of Sienna, doing some last minute shopping before we headed to the airport. Hubby was holding our daughter who was only 8 months old, muscles put to the test. Our luggages were filled to the max by this stage of our trip. So when I found the Furla store and came out with a bag for me and one for mum, we were in trouble! However trouble didn’t linger. There are always ways to repack a bag to make shopping fit!
Skirt. I migrated to Australia while my cousin migrated to France. It wasn’t until about 20 years later before we caught up again! I know …! This beautiful Maje skirt was a gift form my couz. Actually I think I gave her my beloved hair curlers for them …?
Valentino Garavani rockstud pumps. Hmm no real story attached to this purchase. Who could resist a pair of Valentino rockstuds anyhow? Especially in black and white! Well the truth is I’d be happy to have them in any colour combinations possible!
